ABOUT US

Welcome!

Massachusetts has a well-deserved reputation for academic excellence and innovation. The Massachusetts Business School Collaborative is a group of nine business and management schools that have joined forces to recruit underrepresented faculty of color to the nation’s most dynamic academic region. Since 2010, these schools that normally compete for new faculty have come together to make their faculties more inclusive, connected, and culturally competent. The member schools, a collaborative within the Commonwealth Compact, also combine efforts to create a supportive and stimulating environment that values new faculty and encourages them to build their careers here in Massachusetts.

OUR MISSION

MassBSC members believe that excellence and diversity are synonymous.

Given that excellence and diversity are synonymous as key contributors to the success of our democratic society and global economies, we, the members of the MA Business School Collaborative, will work collaboratively to make our faculties more inclusive and culturally competent. Our joint efforts add value beyond our continued individual efforts by sharing information and pursuing strategies we can achieve together that we cannot do alone, especially increasing the representation of faculty from underserved populations of color.

HOW IT WORKS

Upload your CV once, and it will be sent to nine member schools

Expressing interest in a faculty position through MassBSC will ensure that your CV will land on multiple desks at multiple schools. Here is how the process works:

  • Interested candidates submit their materials to MassBSC
  • MassBSC circulates the materials to all nine member schools
  • Individual schools contact and interview candidates for available faculty positions at their respective schools
  • MassBSC forwards the materials from candidates who do not meet current staffing needs at Collaborative schools to the larger pool of institutions (25+) that belong to the Commonwealth Compact Higher Education Collaborative.
As an added benefit, when a MassBSC school is ready to make an offer to a candidate, and the spouse/partner is also seeking a local position, the other MassBSC schools will actively consider the spouse/partner for a position on their campuses.
